The Feldenkrais Method®

A form of somatic education that uses gentle movement and directed attention to increase awareness and improve overall functioning. It works by accessing the plasticity of the brain through sensing and feeling how you move, particularly the skeleton in relation to space and gravity and the affects of that. Attending to yourself in this manner allows you to identify habitual movement patterns, which can be limiting; and to discover other ways to move, often more efficiently. Ultimately this leads to easy, balanced, powerful and pleasurable movement. For more information on the Feldenkrais Method® visit www.feldenkrais.com or contact Elaine Alexander, GCFP (912) 223-7049.

Feldenkrais®, Functional Integration® (FI) – Individual Sessions

A hands-on approach to cultivating self-awareness and efficient movement. The Feldenkrais® Teacher uses gentle, non-invasive touch providing feedback on how you organize and use yourself in moving. Each lesson is specifically tailored to you. As the passive observer you sense a greater understanding of what your limitations are and the possibilities for overcoming them. Sessions are available by appointment only.

For more information on the Feldenkrais Method® visit www.feldenkrais.com or contact Elaine Alexander, GCFP (912) 223-7049.

CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy, provided by Kandy Duke, PhD,  is a light-touch approach that allows the body to relax and self-correct.  The rhythm of the fluid flowing around the central nervous system is monitored and areas of weak fluid flow or tissue motion are located and traced to those areas of weakness through the body to the original source of dysfunction.  This is an excellent complementary approach for many chronic issues. Kandy is available for private appointments at Balance one weekend each month – advanced booking recommended.

Table Yamuna® Body Rolling

Table YBR® uses traction to release muscle and create space in joints.  The body part being worked is molded around a ball and then tractioned. In this way, both sides of the body are worked.  Direct stimulation by a ball wakes up brittle, impacted bone, beginning to soften it, restore circulation, and improve bone quality.  Traction is used to correct bone alignment; then muscles release so they can conform to the new alignment.  Table YBR is useful for mobilizing and decompressing joints, elongating muscles, improving alignment, deeply releasing fascia, stimulating bone, and increasing body awareness. Kandy Duke, our YBR practitioners is available for private appointments at Balance one weekend each month – advanced booking recommended.

75 minute session $95 | 90 minute session $110

Face YBR®

Face YBR® takes the same philosophy of stimulating and aligning bone that works so successfully in other parts of the body.  Bone loss occurs more rapidly in the face than other parts of the body.  Just like every other part of our bodies, the face is subject to tremendous repetitive stress from very early on.  We begin to frown, squint our eyes, clench our jaws, grind our teeth, and purse our lips.  Try Face YBR to help relieve patterns and repetitive stress, reduce early bone loss, wrinkles, sinus and tension headaches. Kandy Duke, our YBR practitioners is available for private appointments at Balance one weekend each month – advanced booking recommended.

60 minute session $80

Private YBR sessions are offered by certified Yamuna Body Rolling practitioner, Kandy Duke, PhD.
